I am the only child of an Ecuadorian mother and German father. Although I was raised in the U.S., I spent alternating summers visiting family in Germany and Ecuador.

As an adult I have lived in Rome, Italy and, presently, Bogota, Colombia. I love living overseas, which gives me a greater appreciation for being an American.

As a traveler, a mother, a wife, a woman, a college graduate, and a quadralinguist, I have gained insight on people, cultures, countries, and myself.
